I’m on this journey with my fans and we’re walking side by side. I’m so inspired by that.
About the Artist
Named this year’s ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year, singer-songwriter Lauren Alaina has found her place in the spotlight.
Her journey to stardom came from humble roots in Rossville, Georgia. Lauren had her eyes set on becoming a singer and, with the support of her parents, she started singing at every karaoke bar and live event they could find.
Lauren’s early celebrity also came with costs. She was thrust into the spotlight as a teen. The pressure that followed launched a battle with self-confidence. As a result, she developed an eating disorder she tried to hide from her family and friends. It wasn’t until her mother intervened that Lauren agreed to get help.
In the midst of tough times, Lauren made it a point to give back to others. She was active with the Special Olympics and found this volunteer work to help restore her as well.
Lauren has been named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country and received her first CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year with her No. 1 hit “Road Less Traveled.” She earned her second CMT Award for Music for Collaborative Video of the year with Kane Brown for “What If’s,” a song that has achieved triple platinum status. She is currently nominated for the CMA New Artist of the Year.
She resides in Nashville where she works on her music and encourages more people to live empowered as well as give back in their communities.
